Welcome The site was established in 2001 after our youngest was diagnosed as milk allergic. We found little understanding and support in the UK and so took matters into our own hands. We created Milkfree as a means of contacting others in the same situation and learning from those who had been there and ''got the t-shirt''.
We encourage not only families of affected children to use this resource, but also organisations who support such individuals, from schools and clubs to friends and beyond. It is the coming together and sharing of the knowledge and understanding we have that will help us create safer environments for our children, allowing us to make better choices for them.
Over the past few years the site has grown and developed. While we still have a primary focus on supporting a UK-based membership, we do have members from all over the globe and try to provide as much help and support to all our members regardless of geographical location! We also acknowledge that many children have more than one food problem and have an area dedicated to other food allergies.
We support and provide information via our FAQ, recipe database, articles, bookstore and the greatest resource we have - our forums, where our membership comes together to share experience and knowledge.
We at Milkfree are NOT medical experts and have no intention of supplying medical knowledge, just a friendly place for people to share experiences and learn from each other. We can offer you support, friendship, and understanding. We can also help you to arm yourself with knowledge, enabling you to interact better with the medical profession and other support networks at a time which can often be daunting and frustrating to say the least!
We do not charge you for this service; it is completely free of charge, but if you like what we do and want to help us keep helping others, you can support us by ordering from our associate Amazon through the links on this site. All money raised goes straight back into keeping this support here for people like you!

would like to Welcome Carly as a new mod for Milkfree, and she will be in charge of all things Gluten Free! Carly is a Coeliac and has years of experience of gluten free life, combined with experience of supporting Milkfree family members (Her Mum, my Aunt) and a diabetic Daughter and Husband. So brings a wide range of experience to the site, and takes Milkfree back a step to being a family run site again!

If you find any site problems, please could you let any of the moderaters know, the owner still has limited access and may not recieve your messages.

We at Milkfree are always striving to ensure that this site is the best it could possibly be and with that in mind, we are pleased to announce that there will be a number of changes over the coming months which are designed to make the site a little more user-friendly and up-to-date.
We can already unveil the first of these changes - that we are soon to be changing our domain name to Milkfree.info as this better reflects the service we provide. Please ensure you update your bookmarks and follow any redirection pages that you see. More changes will follow as they are finalised and we hope this will make your navigation of the site easier in future. Thank you for all your support to date and we look forward to continuing and expanding the community over the coming months.
